Prompt: Pretend you are the friend of one of the characters. Write him or her a letter.
How does what you are reading contrast with a novel you were assigned to read
in school and didn’t like reading.
(Grace is nonexistent)
Dear Veronica,
I can't take it anymore! Things have not gotten any better since the Event. The ghost. The ghost still appear everywhere. Maybe Janine is right, we'll be stick here and never get rid of them. Ronnie, I can't do this. Not for much longer. Very recently I went to the library, at exactly 10: 47, I saw a little girl. The librarian told me her name was Molly. She was so, so happy. All she did was receive was a book. I realized no one will ever be able to be that happy ever, not since the Event.
In a terrifyingly funny way, I think back to our reading of Hiroshima in class with the Fish. Pescatelli had the right idea when picking that book, it speaks truth. It was a horrible book though. A bit to morbid for my taste. Too much history and actual survivors involved. Nothing yet everything like our Event.
You should probably know, I saw a ghost besides Molly. My brother. I understand what you mean whenever you see your dad now. Your happy, yet so upset. Have you realized how little everything lasts? Much too temporary for my liking, in one moment it's there, the next it's gone. One moment he'll be sitting in his room, working at his desk, and then he'll look up and smile. Like every time he was teaching me guitar. I'd be strumming and when I was able to play a song, I'd get so excited! All he would do was smile. Ronnie, I miss him, I truly do. I hope things are better for you and please write back soon.
My best wishes,
Your friend, Grace

Your blog was really good this week!! I liked how you wrote the letter. The way you wrote it was really good. Even though I don't know the character I feel like you portrayed them really well. Good job!
ReplyDeleteYou blog was really good this week! I really like the way you described the characters.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog this week. I don't think I ever saw someone ever do this prompt before, so I think that this is very unique. Was it hard to write from Grace's point of view? Overall, great blog.
