40 Book Challenge Reflection

Throughout the year, my thinking on the 40 Book Challenge has changed significantly. In total I have read about twenty-two books, not counting those over 350 pages. In comparison to my sixth grade readings, I believe it is actually less than before. Despite it being less books that I read, the books are at a larger magnitude than before. I have experienced several readings that have a much larger impact that something I would have read last year. I have been able to read books whose authors might be less well known or notably popular. Overall, I feel that my readings from last year to this year are on complete opposites ends of the spectrum.

As a whole my view on reading a higher diversity has changed completely. I had been the type of person read all the latest young adult books that people had raved about. Up to this date, I now find myself in a position where I now enjoy reading books based upon history or more mature topics. Gone with the happy children chapter books and in with the dystopian, utopian society readings. Not only has the items I have read changed but along with it my vocabulary. Reading exposes you to a large variety of words one might have never heard of. Due to this, and more, I truly have enjoyed the 40 Book Challenge.

I think having to have read 22 books without counting the 350 and over is good. I hope you do better next year. WOuld you have worked more if there was a pizza party at the end?

I can really relate to how you describe how many books you read in 6th grade, but the magnitude was much greater. I read a lot more books this year but they were a greater magnitude. It's nice how you got into different genres and matured moe in your reading. I know you're vocab changed to, I've noticed! Great blog!

It's noble to not count 350+ books as two, I did the same. What was your favorite book this year?

I don't know honestly. I read one book but the moment I read another it changes.

Wow! Just a little off topic, I can really tell that your writing voice has highly increased! Wow you just about doubled the amount of books that I have read! I remember sitting next to you in these two classes and you having different types of books that I haven't really heard of. Seems like you have improved on your reading level! Great job!
