Throughout the book I have encountered several interesting characters. I find it very difficult to pick exactly one character to meet. That being so, by the process of elimination, I decided that I would most likely like to meet Cinna. The reason I chose Cinna, is that he is a very interesting character, he is a bit more reserved than others. Since the beginning of the series Cinna has always supported and helped Katniss, making me feel as if he had a problem with society as well. Cinna seems to be a great friend, not only that, but he also had a fantastic choice in fashion. A few questions I would ask Cinna are, do you have a problem with the Capitol? Where did you come from before you worked as a stylists? Do Effie's antics annoy you? My final question would be, do you believe Katniss should stay with Gale, or Peeta?
The theme throughout the story in m opinion is love, bravery, and independence. I believe the theme of love is developed by Katniss along with her connection to her family, Gale, Peeta, and other districts who face the same problem. Katniss' love for her family and Gale are a large part of Katniss' influence and motivate her to do what she does. The second theme, bravery, is shown through a variety of ways. One of the ways being Katniss and Peeta's need to defy the Capitol. Often, both Katniss and Peeta, somewhat rebel against their government. Katniss, by making several gestures that defy her government, and Peeta, by supporting Katniss and agreeing with her. These acts and gestures prove that several people in the book are willing to sacrifice what they have for a greater. In my opinion, sacrificing for a greater cause, could not be any more brave. The final theme throughout the book is independence. The reason for this is that several times in the book you find people trying to find their independence. Many people in the book have started an uproar, a riot, a rebellion if you dare say. The entire idea of the book is placed upon the principle that people begin to fight for their rights. The people in the book believe that what they are being put through is wrong, so wrong they need to fight back, and finally be able to govern themselves.
After reading I am left to wonder several things. One of those things being, will Katniss choose Gale or Peeta? Or possibly, what will happen to Katniss, if President Snow decides her act is not good enough to fool all other districts? Will Haymitch always act as what he was described to be, a drunken careless man, or is there something about him we don't yet know? Does Madge, Katniss' friend, have feelings for Gale? Does Cinna, Katniss' stylist, have a problem with the government? What would have Katniss' mother thought about her plans of running away? What are the plans for the 75th annual Hunger Games? The item I am left most pensive about is, will Katniss ever be happy?

ReplyDeleteI love these books. I like how you say that it is difficult to pick a good character and how you go with Cinna. I like how you call him a bit reserved and how you kind of summed up how Cinna shares the same feelings about Politics as Katniss.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the movie?!
