The book I am currently reading is Insurgent by Veronica Roth. The book is the second in the series, the first being Divergent. Throughout the entire book you find several quotes in the book that are relatable to the characters in the story and real life. An example of on of the several quotes that are relatable to is, "The truth has a way of changing a person's plans."A believe this is a relatable quote because often in life and other books you find people whose lives completely change when they find ou the truth on a certain subject. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for example, throughout the almost entirety of story Harry believes that his godfather, Sirius Black, is the reason that his parents died. For this reason, he seeks to avenge his family and chase down Sirius. Towards the end of the book, Harry finds that Sirius was not the person who caused the death of his family. When the truth is revealed Harry finally accepts Sirius as his family. As the original plans of Harry were to find Sirius, and turn him into the authorities, when Harry finds the truth he then wants the complete opposite of his original plans. "The truth has a way of changing a person's plans." also reminds me of something Albus Dumbledore had once said in the Harry Potter series, "The truth. It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution." These two quotes tie in together rather well for the reason that they both reveal that the truth is not something to be played with. That if we do indeed play with the truth, in the end we will lose the game. Together these two quotes tend to make feel a bit more cautious when telling lies and the truth. The reason for this is that you realize saying that many people are dependent on the truth, their lives can be made up either. So, when you change what

The list of things that make a story interesting is rather large. Often, I ask myself what makes the book I am currently reading special. After thinking it more thoroughly, I found that I often like books with and elaborate plot. I am not simply a person who likes to be blunt. I rather much prefer an ambiguous piece of writing that keeps you thinking. This is exactly what is delivered throughout Insurgent, Veronica Roth does not simply tell you the characteristics of a persona. She leaves you to infer through the actions of the person and the notions of others on that character. For example, Peter. Throughout the the story Tris, the main character, acts cautiously around Peter. I also see that Peter would join the sides of those who have more to offer him. At every turn in the story new characters are introduced, yet, their idiosyncrasies are rather ambiguous. All attributes are left to the reader to decide. Any type of writing that I usually am interested in, leaves me to describe the characters myself. I rather enjoy to imagine what a character would look like, or who they are most likely to look life in real life.

A reader who would enjoy this piece is someone who is up for a challenge. The reason for this is that the story is filled with numerous pages, above this the book also uses a somewhat higher-leveled vocabulary. Few words that are faced in the story might cause some type of confusion. Another reason someone would enjoy this book is because the setting. The book Insurgent takes place in Chicago, this means that some people might be able to familiarize with the setting. Knowing that I myself am more interested with book that have a setting that is a bit more familiar, or with a setting that is well described helps me keep interest in the book.

  1. This sounds like a good book. Everyone seems to love the Divergent trilogy so I guess I should check it out (especially since it's going to be a film!) I love how you added quotes from other popular books. I'll make sure to read this after the first one. Thanks for the recommendation!
