Maria, At first glance, your butterfly is very eyesome, and it looks very well thought out. I really liked how you said that you tried to use very minimal and basic items to make your butterfly because it represented your poem as a whole. Teddy is very similar to the author of my poem in which they both keep the thought of going home as the "little raft" that you mentioned. Even though your poem does have a sense of hope, I can see that Teddy is explaining all of the terrors that he has to go through. Your entire butterfly captured the mood and all of the details that came in your poem, I really enjoyed learning more about your butterfly!
I really like your butterfly! I think you did a great job making it, and explaining it. My favorite tag you put was the one about the spiraling staircase. I liked how you compared it to the lives of the people at Terezin; walking on forever and never making it out. You did a great job interpreting all the different parts of your poem, the mood and such. I really liked how, instead of drawing it on, you put a picture of a boy instead. It makes it seem more realistic, 3D if you will. Amazing Job! :)
Maria, I have to say that I find your butterfly to be very pretty! You had a very interesting poem that I think you did a very good job of portraying with your butterfly. After reading your poem and explanations, I agree with you on the idea that the idea of finally going home is Teddy's "life raft". When reading that, I thought of how the author of "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" had a life raft himself: the plant life in the ghetto. Overall, great explanations, interpretations, and symbolism (especially your reasoning for all the gray paint!).
