AoW Impressions 2/20

Article of the Week Gallery Walk

This week, I have been introduced to a rather recurring theme throughout our Gallery Walk. With topics such as ISIS and gender equality constantly presented throughout articles, repeatedly, it is plain to see the importance that these events take in lives around the world. It seems that our class has found a particular importance in the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians at the hands of ISIS. ISIS, as found through several articles has lead attacks not only in Egyptian but has continued on attack through social media by hacking into certain accounts and terrorizing military families.

Aside from world terrorism we continue on to another recurring topic, as seen by the amount of articles chosen on the topic, would be preparing for the next epidemic. The end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015, seemed to be plagued with the events of epidemics ranging from the flu, to ebola, to measles. It seems that today in history our usual arsenal of vaccines is no longer making the cut due to viral mutations. In all truth, events such as these are something we must be aware of seeing as that our knowledge on these topics allows us the power to turn them around for the better. Along with this, a certain appreciation should be made for informative pieces and the truth that they hold.
